Sheet 18Handicrafts & Traditional Products
Etikoppaka Wooden Toys
Lathe-turned Etikoppaka toys and figurines finished in natural vegetable dyes and traditional lac colouring.
Etikoppaka toys are turned on hand lathes from soft ankudu wood by artisan families in the Etikoppaka village of Andhra Pradesh, then coloured with natural vegetable dyes applied through the traditional lac-turnery technique. The smooth rounded forms and natural colouring make them well suited to museum shops, craft retailers, gifting programmes and children's product buyers. Designs, sizes, colour assortment and order quantity are confirmed against approved samples.
